Altec the Spacemakers


Founded in 1974, Altec has been supplying quality patios, carports and enclosures for homes in South-East Queensland and northern New South Wales for more than 45 years.

Since then the Altec brand has grown steadily thanks to their dedication to providing comprehensive outdoor solutions for their customers.

In 2016, Altec approached us for their website re-build and to assist with a full web overhaul. Since then, we have been providing ongoing digital marketing services to support their marketing operations.

What’s mobile responsive?
 

Mobile responsive means your website will adjust the way it displays to suit the target device. When working on a mobile responsive website we target each device size carefully.

It’s important to understand the experience each user has on each device and why.

When approaching the website build for Altec, one of our primary concerns was addressing mobile usability. From our initial analysis, Altec was lacking a User Experience for mobile devices. We tailored the experience for ease of use and to present information quickly.

The custom approach of our build allowed us to tailor each stylesheet for each page individually. Adjusting cascading style sheets for each viewport along with individually indexing its own stylesheet for speed enabled us to both harness speed and deliverability of content to the users.

User Experience

Through the Altec website build process, we work together with the team to develop the individual page user experience. We covered all responsive platforms, from mobile, tablet and desktop.

Each page was based on researching analytical data. Once we understood users behaviour across the website, we determined which visual and functional changes would provide users a new experience and be aligned with their expectations. 

User Heat Mapping

With our continual optimisation of the Altec pages, we use heat mapping to track how users interacted with the website. This allows us to provide user experience testing and optimisation on an ongoing basis. 

We use the results from each test and sample, which allows Altec to set new goals and optimise user experience based on the new observed behaviours.

Animation & Creative

We worked with the team at Altec to develop their animated videos. Our goal has been to slowly re-introduce to the younger demographic the two prominent Queensland characters Al & Tec.

With over 45 years of history, these characters have resonated with the audience looking to build a home extension. It was only fair we showed these two guys a little love.

For the animation, we modified Al & Tec with uniforms to bring them into today. Once we had invigorated Al and Tec’s wardrobe, we moved to the facial expressions. In order to animate the characters, we developed a set of facial expression to cover the most relevant human expressions. Using facial recognition, we connected these together to create the character voice-overs. The end result has given Altec the tools to keep Al and Tec the leaders in space making.

Custom CRM Integration & Support


With the increased number of applications and tools for automation, organisations are experiencing more and more integration issues with their proprietary systems. This is called ‘technology debt’.

To ensure Altec’s systems are both future proof and not double handling the transfer of information internally, we developed a custom CRM integration solution working alongside their proprietary software.  

The technology built enables Altec to seamlessly gather and filter user submissions from the top-level marketing activities (whatever the medium, application or source). All data is kept secure locally and is handled with the utmost respect and care. 

Ultimately, our solution saves Altec teams time when managing and distributing incoming data internally and maintains data integrity without the need for cloud-based third party applications.
